Job summary

G-Research is offering a Security Operations internship in London. You’ll investigate security alerts and incidents, support threat intelligence, detection engineering, forensics and malware analysis, paired with a mentor to guide your learning.

Based in Central London, the placement runs July 2027 to July 2028, with exposure to enterprise security operations and real-world issues. You’ll work alongside senior engineers, gain hands-on experience with SIEM tools and cloud environments, and

Qualifications

• A strong interest in cyber security and a solid technical foundation.
• A proactive, methodical approach to problem solving.
• Good communication skills and the ability to support internal users with professionalism and clarity.
• Strong organisational skills and a desire to learn quickly in a fast-moving environment.
• A predicted grade of 2:1 or above.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the first point of contact for cyber security matters within the business.
• Investigating security alerts across Windows, Linux, Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• Leading the triage and coordination of security incidents raised across the organisation.
• Conducting threat hunting across a large, centralised data lake.
• Using threat intelligence sources to enhance and tune existing detection capabilities.
• Working with our interface backed by SIEM tools from Azure, Elastic and AWS.
