Mitie Group plc. in Bristol is seeking a professional Security Officer / Front of House Ambassador to deliver customer-focused security and welcoming service across the site.

You will patrol, monitor CCTV and access control, respond to incidents, assist visitors, and uphold health and safety while maintaining a professional appearance. This role requires a valid SIA licence and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Calm and professional under pressure with good observation and decision-making.
• Flexible, reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic IT literacy including report writing and emails.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal and external patrols of the premises in line with assignment instructions.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter issues and ensure safety.
• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, access control systems and other security tech.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns.
• Record, investigate, and report incidents through company systems.
• Support emergency procedures including evacuation and business continuity.
• Liaise with emergency services when required.
• Ensure compliance with site procedures and client requirements.
• Provide a warm, professional front of house experience and assist visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations

• Conduct internal and external patrols of the premises in accordance with assignment instructions.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter criminal activity, anti-social behaviour, and security breaches.
• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, access control systems, and other security technologies.
• Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns.
• Record, investigate, and report all incidents accurately through company reporting systems.
• Support emergency procedures including evacuation, fire response, and business continuity arrangements.
• Liaise with emergency services and support agencies when required.
• Ensure compliance with site security procedures and client requirements.

Front of House & Customer Service

• Provide a warm, professional, and welcoming experience for all visitors and colleagues.
• Act as the first point of contact for guests, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Manage visitor registration and access procedures efficiently and courteously.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining security standards.
• Assist with wayfinding and provide information about local facilities and services.
• Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues through proactive engagement.
• Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and professionalism at all times.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Support and promote a strong health and safety culture.
• Identify and report hazards, defects, near misses, and unsafe practices.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of site assignment instructions and emergency response plans.
• Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding people, property, and assets.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in commercial, corporate, retail, or front-of-house security.
• CCTV Licence.
• First Aid qualification.

• Knowledge of incident management and emergency response procedures.
