Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Security Officer / Front of House Ambassador for a Bristol site. You will act as the face of Mitie and the client, delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a strong security presence on site.

The role combines visitor management with patrols, CCTV monitoring, and incident reporting. You will promote a culture of safety, inclusivity, and professionalism across the site in line with Mitie's values.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Good observation and decision‑making skills.
• Flexible and reliable; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal and external patrols of the premises in line with assignment instructions.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents and breaches.
• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems and access control systems.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies and security concerns.
• Record, investigate and report all incidents using company reporting systems.
• Support emergency procedures including evacuation and business continuity arrangements.
• Liaise with emergency services and support agencies when required.
• Provide a warm, professional, and welcoming experience for all visitors and colleagues.

Role Overview

We are seeking a professional, customer-focused, and highly motivated Security Officer / Front of House Ambassador to join our team in Bristol. This role combines exceptional customer service with a proactive approach to safety and security, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and secure environment for colleagues, customers, visitors, contractors, and members of the public.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations

• Conduct internal and external patrols of the premises in accordance with assignment instructions.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter criminal activity, anti-social behaviour, and security breaches.
• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, access control systems, and other security technologies.
• Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns.
• Record, investigate, and report all incidents accurately through company reporting systems.
• Support emergency procedures including evacuation, fire response, and business continuity arrangements.
• Liaise with emergency services and support agencies when required.
• Ensure compliance with site security procedures and client requirements.

Front of House & Customer Service

• Provide a warm, professional, and welcoming experience for all visitors and colleagues.
• Act as the first point of contact for guests, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Manage visitor registration and access procedures efficiently and courteously.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining security standards.
• Assist with wayfinding and provide information about local facilities and services.
• Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues through proactive engagement.
• Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and professionalism at all times.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Support and promote a strong health and safety culture.
• Identify and report hazards, defects, near misses, and unsafe practices.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of site assignment instructions and emergency response plans.
• Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding people, property, and assets.

Teamwork & Continuous Improvement

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and client representatives.
• Share information effectively during handovers and briefings.
• Support operational requirements across multiple locations when required.
• Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve service delivery and customer experience.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of incident management and emergency response procedures.
