Job summary

Wilson James is seeking a Security Officer to protect staff, visitors and assets at our Sunbury location. You will monitor premises, patrol regularly, respond to incidents, and ensure adherence to security protocols.

The role requires vigilant observation, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure during emergencies or high‑risk situations. Full-time hours include day and night shifts with a 4 on/4 off pattern.

Qualifications

• Hold a current DS SIA Licence.
• Provable security experience and vigilance for safeguarding staff, visitors and assets.
• Excellent observational and communication skills with the ability to respond calmly in high‑pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome staff and visitors, maintaining a safe, professional atmosphere.
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor premises to deter unauthorised access, theft or damage.
• Monitor access points and CCTV; respond to alarms and security incidents; file detailed reports.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 4 on, 4 off, days 07:00 - 19:00 and nights 19:00 - 07:00

Job Summary

About The Role

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Welcoming staff and visitors and creating a safe, professional atmosphere
• Conducting regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft, or vandalism.
• Monitoring access points, CCTV, and handling security procedures
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, taking appropriate action as needed.
• Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and any security concerns.
• Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid support if required.
• Adapting to different client sites – no two days are the same
• Responding calmly and confidently to incidents or concerns
• Working as part of a diverse, supportive team

What We Are Looking For

• To hold a current DS SIA Licence
• Proven experience in a security role or a similar position.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and respond to security threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors, and authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
