Job summary

Wilson James is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to help maintain a safe environment for staff, visitors and assets at our Aberdeen site. This permanent role offers 42 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off rota, with pay at £13.45 per hour.

You will conduct patrols, monitor access points and CCTV, respond to alarms and incidents, and complete detailed reports. Flexibility for nights, weekends and public holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Current SIA licence is required.
• Proven experience in a security role or similar position.
• Strong observational skills essential for threat detection.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to stay calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming staff and visitors and creating a safe, professional atmosphere.
• Conducting regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft or vandalism.
• Monitoring access points, CCTV and handling security procedures.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies and security incidents, taking appropriate action.
• Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents and security concerns.
• Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid support if required.
• Adapting to different client sites – no two days are the same.
• Responding calmly and confidently to incidents or concerns.
• Working as part of a diverse, supportive team.

What we are looking for:

• To hold a current SIA Licence
• Proven experience in a security role or a similar position.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and respond to security threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors, and authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
