Job summary

Security Officer position at Securitas UK in Stanford-le-Hope (SS17 9LW) pays £13.12 per hour for 42 hours per week. You will protect people, property and assets while delivering outstanding customer service.

The role includes internal/external patrols, CCTV monitoring, access control, visitor passes, keys management and accurate record-keeping. We emphasise integrity, vigilance and teamwork with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence is required.
• Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle.

• Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Prevent unauthorized access; monitor alarms and CCTV as appropriate.
• Conduct external and internal security patrols.
• Carry out routine tests on security equipment.
• Manage keys; perform locking/unlocking duties.
• Maintain logbooks and records accurately.
• Issue visitor passes per Instructions; escort staff and contractors.
• Provide guidance and information to staff, visitors and contractors.

As a Security Officer, you will play a key role in protecting people, property, and assets while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Working in line with site procedures and customer requirements, you will maintain a safe and secure environment, demonstrating the highest standards of integrity, vigilance, and professionalism at all times

The role as a Security Officer includes conducting internal and external patrols, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, controlling site access, issuing visitor passes, managing keys, and carrying out locking and unlocking duties. You will also maintain accurate records, support traffic and parking management, perform routine equipment checks, and respond appropriately to security incidents, lost property, and other site-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate
• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions
• Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

• A valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence
• Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle
• The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history
• Strong understanding of health, safety and security procedures
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Good IT skills, including the use of emails and reporting systems
• Ability to pass site-specific screening and vetting requirements
• Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken
