Job summary

Anchor Group Services is recruiting an experienced Security Officer to join our team, covering Fareham, Portsmouth, Southampton and surrounding sites. You will provide a visible security presence, patrol facilities and respond to incidents to keep people and property safe.

The role offers guaranteed contracted hours, 36 per week, with shifts varying by site. Essential: SIA DS/SG licence, UK driving licence, and a professional, customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid SIA Door Supervisor (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) licence.
• Full 5-year checkable employment history.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Protect client property and people per instructions and site procedures.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols to maintain security.
• Monitor site activity and maintain a visible security presence.
• Provide a safe environment for visitors, retailers, contractors and staff.
• Report incidents, losses or unauthorised access and escalate as required.
• Complete accurate incident logs and patrol records.

Job Description

Job Title: Security Officer (Multi-Site)

Location: Covering Fareham, Portsmouth, and Southampton

Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week (contracted)

Shift Pattern: Shift times and days will vary depending on site requirements

Pay Rate: £13.45-£14.94 depending on site rate

Reporting to: Contracts Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services for an experienced, professional and flexible Security Officer to join our established team as a Security Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced security professional who enjoys working in a variety of environments while benefiting from guaranteed contracted hours. As a Security Officer, you will support a portfolio of shopping centres and commercial sites across the South Coast, helping to maintain safe, secure and welcoming environments for tenants, visitors, contractors and staff. No two days are the same. You'll work across a range of locations, building valuable experience while becoming an important part of our wider security team.

• Fareham Shopping Centre, PO16 0PQ
• The Marlands Shopping Centre, SO14 7SJ
• Port Solent, PO6 4TP
• Rams Walk Shopping Centre, GU32 3JA
• Meridian Shopping Centre, PO9 1UN

The successful candidate must be prepared to travel to support operational requirements across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Protecting the client's people, property and assets in accordance with Assignment Instructions and site-specific procedures.
• Conducting regular internal and external patrols.
• Monitoring site activity and maintaining a visible security presence.
• Providing a safe and secure environment for visitors, retailers, contractors and staff.
• Preventing and reporting incidents, losses, damage and unauthorised access.
• Escalating incidents appropriately to site management, the Control Room, Operations Management or Emergency Services where required.
• Completing accurate reports, incident logs and patrol records.
• Assisting customers and members of the public in a professional and friendly manner.
• Responding to customer enquiries and site-related issues efficiently.
• Supporting planned and short-notice cover requirements across multiple locations.
• Maintaining professional conduct, appearance and company standards at all times.
• Working closely with site management and wider security teams to ensure smooth site operations.

Requirements

• Essential: Valid SIA Door Supervisor (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) Licence.
• Essential: Valid UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Preferred: Valid CCTV licence
• Full 5-year checkable employment history.
• Previous security experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Confidence in handling conflict calmly and professionally.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible approach to working hours, locations and shift patterns.
• Reliable, punctual and professional attitude.
• Smart appearance and high personal standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
