Job summary

Mitie has an exciting opportunity for a Retail Security Officer at Lidl Union Street, Plymouth. This role offers 16 hours per week, Sundays and Mondays, with overtime available for holiday/absence cover. Pay is £14.30 per hour, with day shifts between 9am and 10pm.

Full training and induction are provided. The position includes benefits such as SIA license renewal, pension, healthcare, uniform, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Door Supervision or Security Guarding License.
• Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of unemployment, self-employment, or education.
• Retail security experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor
• Safely detain offenders following H&S training
• Utilize store security systems, including CCTV and EAS gates
• Collaborate with covert security operatives
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
• Complete accurate incident reports and company documentation
• Report crime incidents using a company-provided tablet
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets
• Provide security updates during store briefings
• Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all

Retail Security Officer - Lidl- Union Street Plymouth

Location: Union Street, Plymouth (PL1 1UD)
