Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is looking for a Retail Security Officer at Lidl Union Street, Plymouth. You will deter shop-floor disruption, monitor CCTV and EAS systems, and document incidents while keeping customers safe.

The role is Sundays and Mondays, 16 hours per week, with day shifts and potential overtime for cover. The position pays £14.30 per hour, with full training and benefits through Mitie.

Qualifications

• SIA licence required (Door Supervision or Security Guarding)
• Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of any unemployment/education period

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor
• Safely detain offenders following H&S training
• Utilize store security systems including CCTV and EAS gates
• Collaborate with covert security operatives
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
• Complete accurate incident reports and company documentation
• Report crime incidents using a company-provided tablet
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets
• Provide security updates during store briefings
• Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all
