Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Retail Security Officer for Lidl in Blackwater. The role offers 40 hours per week with 4 on 4 off shifts and overtime for holiday/absence cover. Training and a thorough induction are provided to ensure high standards of security at the Lidl Blackwater store.

The officer will deter theft, operate CCTV and EAS systems, and report incidents via a tablet, working within a large UK facilities management group that supports career development and benefits.

Qualifications

• Door Supervision or Security Guarding License is required.
• Five-year checkable employment history or evidence of unemployment periods, self-employment, or education.

Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor
• Safely detain offenders following H&S training
• Utilize store security systems, including CCTV and EAS gates
• Collaborate with covert security operatives
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
• Complete accurate incident reports and company documentation
• Report crime incidents using a company-provided tablet
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets
• Provide security updates during store briefings
• Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all
