Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services at Lidl Crewkerne is seeking a Retail Security Officer. This role offers 30 hours per week with overtime for holiday/absence cover and pays £14.30 per hour.

Shifts are day-based on a 4 on 4 off pattern, up to 12 hours a day between 08:00–22:00 Mon–Sat and 09:00–16:00 on Sundays. You will act as a visual deterrent, use CCTV and EAS gates, and complete accurate incident reports to support store safety.

Qualifications

• Door Supervision or Security Guarding license is required.
• Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or education.

Responsabilités

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor
• Safely detain offenders following H&S training
• Utilize store security systems, including CCTV and EAS gates
• Collaborate with covert security operatives
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
• Complete accurate incident reports and company documentation
• Report crime incidents using a company-provided tablet
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets
• Provide security updates during store briefings
• Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all
