Job summary

Staffline is seeking a professional Security Officer in Market Drayton to help keep people, premises and visitors safe. The role offers a rotating 4 on 4 off shift pattern with 7am–7pm and 7pm–7am hours, paying £13.55 per hour.

You will patrol, monitor CCTV, control access, and respond to incidents while delivering excellent customer service. Applicants must hold a valid SIA licence (Door Supervisor or Guarding) and be capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence is essential.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to deal calmly with challenging situations.
• Good observational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to follow procedures.
• Basic IT skills for report writing and logging incidents.
• Reliable and punctual, comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Desirable: First Aid at Work certificate, CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) licence, previous security or customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular patrols of the site (internal and external) and monitor CCTV/alarm systems.
• Control access/egress, issue visitor passes and maintain accurate records and logs.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies and alarm activations, escalating where required.
• Provide excellent customer service to staff, visitors and contractors, acting as a professional point of contact.
• Support safety and security procedures including fire, evacuation and first response protocols (training provided where needed).
• Complete clear written reports for incidents, hazards and daily handovers.
• Assist with lock/unlock duties and key management in line with site procedures.
• Handle calls to the site
• Weighbridge operation

The rate of pay is £13.55 per hour.

This is a full-time role working rotating shifts, 4 on 4 off, and the hours of work are:

Your Time at Work
