Job summary

Ward Security is seeking an experienced Security Officer in Winsford, Cheshire, to safeguard a high-profile site. You will perform ID checks, respond to incidents, and act as the main contact for staff and visitors, ensuring professional conduct and vigilant protection of property.

The role requires a valid UK SIA licence, a driving licence, and at least 1 year of security experience, with opportunities for progression and training. The position is on-site with day, night, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing security roles is preferred.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly with staff and visitors.
• Strong presence and professional conduct at all times.

Responsibilities

• Act as a point of contact and information centre to staff and visitors.
• Always conduct yourself in a professional manner.
• Ensure all instructions, both written and verbal are adhered to.
• Guard access points, permitting or refusing entry, restraining trespassers.
• Conduct foot patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client's property and assets.
• Investigate and take the appropriate lawfully action as authorized by policy on incidents and safety matters.
• Complete daily reports with observations, relevant information and signatures.
• Excellent communication skills to all levels - verbally, written, phone and by radios.
• Operate pass systems relevant to an assignment.
• Conduct lawful searches of vehicles and persons as instructed.
• Knowledge of firefighting equipment and health and safety guidelines.

We're looking for experienced, adaptable Security Officers to join our team at a high-profile site in Winsford, Cheshire. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where professionalism, vigilance, and excellent communication are key.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of site safety and customer experience-carrying out ID checks, responding to incidents, and acting as a trusted point of contact for staff and visitors.

Role: Security Officer

Pay Rate: £14.56 per hour

Shift Pattern: Days, Nights and Weekends

Location: Cheshire

Role Requirements: Door Supervisor SIA licence and UK Driving licence and the ability to undergo Police vetting.

Main Duties:

• Act as a point of contact and information centre to staff and visitors
• Always conduct yourself in a professional manner
• Ensure all instructions, both written and verbal are adhered to

• Conduct foot patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client's property and assets.
• Investigate and take the appropriate lawfully action as authorized by the corporate policy on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety and fire incidents
• Complete daily reports, including relevant information, observations, surveillance footage, and signatures
• Excellent communication skills to all levels - verbally, written, phone and by security radios
• Effective operation of all pass systems relevant to an assignment
• Lawful searches of vehicles and persons in accordance with instructions issued.
• Practical working knowledge of all current and applicable firefighting equipment.
• Sound working knowledge of health and safety instructions pertaining to assigned duties.
• The ability to operate basic switchboard equipment effectively

Must Haves:

• Valid SIA licence
• UK Drivers licence
• Proven work experience as a Security Officer (minimum 1 year)
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• High level of self-presentation
• IT literate- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
• Quick thinking and problem-solving skills
• A positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges
