Job summary

Wilson James is seeking a Security Controller for a 12-month fixed-term contract based at Broadgate, London. The role covers 42 hours per week on a 4 on/4 off cycle, including days and nights, with a pay rate of £16.09 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Operate the fire control room systems and deliver command-and-control.

Are you a vigilant and dedicated professional looking for a rewarding career in security? This role will be responsible for delivering the command-and-control function using fire control room systems, processes and procedures at any Broadgate based fire or control room. About the Role

As a Security Controller, you will be responsible for:

• Demonstrable and proven experience of working in a fire control room environment.
• Deal with visitors to the fire control room providing them with a personal service and guidance
• Monitoring access points, CCTV, and handling security procedures
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, taking appropriate action as needed.
• Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and any security concerns.
• Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid support if required.
• Adapting to different client sites – no two days are the same
• Responding calmly and confidently to incidents or concerns
• Working as part of a diverse, supportive team

What we are looking for

• To hold a current DS SIA Licence
• Valid SIA CCTV licence
• Proven experience in a security role or a similar position.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and respond to security threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors, and authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high‑pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
