Job summary

Wilson James is seeking a Night Security Officer for a Nights Only permanent position at their Longcross site in Surrey. The role runs 18:00–06:00 with a 4 on/4 off rota, focusing on a highly visible security presence, access control and incident response for visitors, staff and contractors.

The ideal candidate will have an SIA DS badge, be able to report clearly and work well in a team. The company emphasizes supportive training, wellbeing and a long-term, employee-owned workplace culture.

Qualifications

• SIA DS badge is required or valid SIA license held.
• Ability to think and act quickly in emergencies.
• Strong verbal and written reporting skills.
• Reliable with punctuality and attendance.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Calm and confident when dealing with the public.

Responsibilities

• Provide a highly visible security presence on and around the site, focusing on access control.
• Be familiar with the site layout and potential threats.
• Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures and safe movement to places of safety.
• Protect premises, property and people from theft, damage and violence; investigate unusual conditions and ensure doors/windows are secured.
• Deliver a professional, courteous service to the public, client, residents and colleagues.
• Identify hazards and report to onsite security supervisor.
• Report incidents and unusual events to onsite security supervisor.

As a Security officer you will bring excellent customer service, have a super smart personal presentation and entrusted to protect premises ensuring a safe working environment for visitors, staff and contractors. You are required to have a highly visible presence in a fantastic working culture and prevent any illegal or inappropriate activities that might arise. In addition to playing an active role in incident response your goal will be to detect, deter, protect in a professional and confident manner.

Hours: 4 on, 4 off - 18.00pm-06.00am

About The Role

• Provide a highly visible proactive security presence on and around the site with emphasis on access and egress controls
• Fully conversant with the layout of the site and be aware of threats and challenges faced by the site.
• Be fully conversant with emergency evacuation/controlled movement, to a place of safety procedures at the location.
• Protect the premises, property and personnel from theft, damage and violence; investigating unusual conditions and ensure building is securely locked.
• Provide a customer focused service, maintaining a professional and courteous manner at all times towards the public, the client, residents and colleagues.
• Check and report any hazards identified and report to the onsite security supervisor.
• Report all incidents and unusual events to the onsite security supervisor.
