Job summary

Wilson James in London is seeking a Patrolling Officer for a full-time, on-site role. The position involves safeguarding people, property and assets with duties spanning surveillance, access control, loading bay tasks and incident response.

Nights and days shift pattern is 4 on, 4 off, 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00. You will provide a visible security presence, greet visitors professionally, monitor contractor movements, and ensure safety standards across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• SIA DS licence is required
• Experience in security/patrolling is beneficial
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors professionally and manage reception duties.
• Conduct site security patrols and monitor access points.
• Oversee loading bay duties and staff/contractor movements.
• Maintain a highly visible security presence on-site and respond to incidents.
• Control access to restricted areas and monitor vehicle movements.
• Manage contractor check-in/out and issue passes as required.
• Record routine access events using available systems.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and incidents on site.

The main responsibility of a Patrolling Officer is to play a vital role in safeguarding people, property, and assets. The responsibilities encompass a range of tasks, including surveillance and patrolling to prevent and detect security breaches, controlling access to facilities, and responding promptly to emergencies.

About the Role

As a Patrolling Officer you will be responsible for:

• Meeting and greeting of visitors and guests in a professional and friendly manner
• Site security patrols
• Loading bay duties
• Provide a highly visible proactive security presence on and around the sites with emphasis on access and egress controls.
• Control of access to dedicated parts of site utilising existing barriers and physical presence.
• Contractor control — booking in/out of contractors, issuing of vehicle passes, monitoring adherence to parking restrictions.
• Monitoring routine vehicle access using existing computer and paper-based recording methods e.g. deliveries, couriers, postal vehicles etc.
