Job summary

Great British Energy - Nuclear seeks a Secure By Design Manager to lead physical security, policy, and standards across a critical national infrastructure environment. You will translate security requirements into practical, proportionate solutions and provide expert advice on protective security governance.

In this role you will develop assurance processes, manage risk assessments, and work with multiple stakeholders to embed security by design from concept through live operation, ensuring

Qualifications

• Strong experience in physical security, security risk management, or security design within relevant environments.
• Ability to interpret policy, regulation and protective security guidance into operational requirements.
• Experience of security by design and influencing projects and programmes.
• Knowledge of security systems and governance controls, with ability to challenge proposals.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain physical and protective security policies, standards and guidance.
• Embed physical security into programmes using secure by design methodology across asset lifecycles.
• Advise on physical security systems including perimeter protection, access control, CCTV and intrusion detection.
• Develop governance processes and prepare risk papers and recommendations.
• Monitor threat, regulatory changes and best practices; update policies accordingly.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders to ensure security requirements are delivered to standard.
• Provide support during incidents, audits, and post-incident reviews.
