Job summary

Great British Energy - Nuclear is seeking a Secure By Design Manager to lead the development and delivery of physical security, secure-by-design, and security policy across a critical national infrastructure environment.

You will provide authoritative advice to ensure assets, sites and programmes meet protective security requirements, regulatory obligations, and organisational risk appetite, through policy leadership, design assurance and governance across lifecycle stages.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in physical security, risk management, or design within government, public sector, regulated, defence, utilities, transport, or critical infrastructure environments.
• Experience developing policies, standards, assurance frameworks, and governance controls and translating policy into operational requirements.
• Experience of physical security by design and influencing projects, infrastructure programmes, or estate developments from concept to live operation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain physical security policies, standards, procedures and guidance in line with government requirements.
• Embed physical security into programmes using secure-by-design methodologies throughout asset lifecycles.
• Design and advise on physical security systems including perimeter protection, access control, CCTV and intrusion detection.
• Develop governance and assurance processes through reports, risk papers and recommendations.
• Collaborate with project teams to translate security requirements into practical solutions and conduct risk assessments.
