Job summary

Kier Group is recruiting a Section Engineer for the KierBAM Joint Venture in Plymouth at the Devonport Royal Dockyard. You will operate on a live MOD site within the WRB team, ensuring quality, setting out and timely progress on a major redevelopment project.

The role requires civil engineering qualifications, professional membership, and hands-on experience with reinforcement detailing, formwork, and setting out, plus strong communication and collaborative working abilities.

Qualifications

• You hold a Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng).
• You have your SMSTS and CSCS White PQP/AQP or Black Managers card.
• You're working towards or hold Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or another appropriate professional body.
• You have experience with reinforcement detailing, formwork and falsework.
• You possess strong communication skills and enjoy collaborative working.

Responsibilities

• Managing the preparation of as-built drawings and maintaining the Project Quality Plan
• Providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control to ensure accurate construction
• Overseeing the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, including drainage, concrete, and brickwork
• Providing engineering support to overcome technical problems and answer queries
• Managing systems to review work progress against time, quality, dimensions and quantity
