Job summary

Kier Group, via KierBAM, is delivering a Royal Navy redevelopment in Plymouth. The Site Engineer will help manage technical compliance with designs and ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery on a live MOD site.

Responsibilities include preparing as-built records, conducting surveys, setting out works, and providing engineering support for procurement and drawing control. Strong HSE qualifications and IT skills are required.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng or MEng) and may be working towards Chartership.
• Experience in reinforced concrete structures using system formwork and familiarity with Leica Survey equipment.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems; writing RAMS; strong IT skills.
• HSE related tests: Supervisor HSE, SSSTS, and CSCS Card (White PQP/AQP or Red Trainee/Red Provisional).
• Team player with excellent organisational skills and willingness to work weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Set out works within tolerances and verify setting out points and benchmarks.

Job description

We're looking for a Site Engineer to join our KierBAM team based in Plymouth - Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Location: Plymouth - Devonport Royal DockyardHours: 45 hours per week

KierBAM is a Joint Venture partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall, currently delivering an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. As a Site Engineer, you'll assist in managing the technical compliance of the project to design specifications, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a significant project within a live MOD facility.

What will you be responsible for?

• Assisting in the preparation of as-built drawings and establishing effective systems to record completed work
• Participating in developing quality check sheets and carrying out quality checks, surveys, and site inspections
• Setting out works within allowable tolerances and regularly checking setting out points and benchmarks
• Providing engineering support to overcome technical problems and assist in procurement of site materials
• Maintaining drawing registers, completing daily diaries, and keeping trackers up to date

What are we looking for?

• You hold a Civil Engineering or construction related qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng) and may be working towards Chartership
• You have experience in reinforced concrete structures using system formwork and are familiar with Leica Survey equipment
• You're comfortable with Quality Management Systems, writing RAMS, and possess strong IT skills
• You hold a Supervisor HSE test, SSSTS, and CSCS Card (White PQP/AQP or Red Trainee or Red Provisional)
• You're a team player with excellent organisational skills and flexibility to work weekends when required
