Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Secondary Tutor to provide flexible 1:1 tuition in St Helens. You will deliver purposeful lessons, build rapport with the learner and help them progress across their secondary education.

The role requires delivering personalised tuition, creating structured lesson plans and monitoring progress, with the ability to work independently and report outcomes. Starts September 2026 with 5–15 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching or tutoring at secondary level.
  • Good knowledge of the secondary curriculum.
  • QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching experience desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Two professional references relating to work with children.

Prospero Teaching are recruiting for an experienced Secondary Tutor to provide flexible 1:1 tuition to a young person in St Helens.

We're looking for an educator who can deliver purposeful lessons, establish a strong rapport with their learner and help them make meaningful progress across their secondary education.

Requirements
  • Experience teaching or tutoring at secondary level

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
