Job summary

Prospero Teaching are recruiting an experienced Secondary Tutor to provide flexible 1:1 tuition to a young person in St Helens. An educator who can deliver purposeful lessons, establish rapport, and help progress across secondary education is sought.

Deliver personalised tuition, create structured lesson plans, and monitor progress while supporting learner confidence. Flexible hours (5-15 per week) start September 2026, with independence and ongoing feedback emphasized.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring at secondary level.
• Good knowledge of the secondary curriculum.
• DBS check or willingness to obtain one.

Requirements

• Experience teaching or tutoring at secondary level
• Good knowledge of the secondary curriculum
• Previous 1:1 tuition experience advantageous
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently
• QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching experience desirable
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Right to Work in the UK
• Two professional references relating to work with children
