Job summary

Justteachers is seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant in the Preston area for a long-term, full-time role starting September 2026. You will work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils in KS3 and KS4, supporting SEND and implementing targeted interventions within a supportive school environment.

You will adapt resources to EHCP targets, assist with literacy and numeracy, monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers, while promoting independence and positive engagement in lessons.

Qualifications

• Previous UK secondary school experience
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND across KS3 and KS4
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual EHCP targets
• Support pupils with literacy, numeracy and communication needs
