Key Stage 4 Teaching Assistant

• Based in Gloucester
• Term time only

Long-Term Teachers is working with an alternative provision in Gloucester seeking a dedicated teaching assistant for a full-time, permanent position. The role involves supporting students in Key Stage 4 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools. The work is challenging but rewarding, helping young people transition successfully into their next educational step.

You will primarily provide classroom support, with opportunities for 1:1 assistance. Additional duties include helping deliver engaging lessons, supporting behavior management, and monitoring breaktime duties. There will also be opportunities to participate in school trips and after-school clubs.

Experience supporting students with special educational needs is essential, especially those with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behavior, whether in mainstream or specialist settings. You should be able to support the teacher in managing behavior calmly and effectively.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, during term time. It starts as a temporary position with the potential to become permanent after passing probation.
