Job summary

Academics is seeking a versatile Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with barriers to learning across Kirklees. You will work 1:1 or with groups to help access work set by class teachers and to navigate challenging days, acting as a positive role model.

You will be required to demonstrate safeguarding awareness, initiative, and problem-solving skills to put children’s needs first and help them flourish at school.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with children
• Understanding safeguarding importance in schools
• Ability to use own initiative and solve problems
• Put the needs of children first

Responsibilities

• Support students 1:1 or in small groups to access work set by class teachers
• Help students navigate challenging days and flourish at school
• Be a positive role model and deliver supportive pastoral assistance
