Academics seeks a dedicated Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with barriers to learning across local schools. You will assist 1:1 or in small groups to access work and help students navigate challenging days, modelling resilience and a positive mindset.

The role offers diverse school placements, safeguarding responsibilities, and a clear path to gain experience in SEN education, with DBS checks typically required and ongoing consultant support throughout placements.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with children.
• Understands safeguarding in schools.
• Proactive, with good initiative and problem solving.
• Puts the needs of children first.

Responsibilities

• Assist students 1:1 or in small groups to access class work.
• Support students with barriers to learning to navigate challenging days.
• Work across different schools and age groups to gain experience.
• Role subject to an enhanced DBS check.
