South Lanarkshire Council is recruiting a Secondary Janitor at Calderside Academy, Blantyre. The role covers janitorial duties, ground maintenance and safety compliance within the school premises.

The successful candidate will ensure safe, tidy grounds, monitor contractors, log faults and liaise with external teams to meet daily needs. Temporary post until 24 December 2026 with shifts including early mornings and evenings.

Qualifications

• Experience in school/estate janitorial duties preferred.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work across shifts and maintain records.

Responsabilités

• Keep school grounds.safe, tidy and free from hazards to ensure Health and Safety of staff and visitors.
• Monitor lessee activities and contractors; report issues to line manager.
• Log and report damages to fabric and fixtures and arrange repairs as needed.
• Liaise with external contractors and lessees; ensure Health and Safety and security procedures are followed.
• Communicate with Facilities Manager and team to meet daily customer needs.
