Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council invites applications for a Secondary Janitor at Calderside Academy, Blantyre. The role covers janitorial and cleaning prep, with a 42.5-hour week and a temporary end date of 24 December 2026. Salary ranges £32,153–£32,862 per year.

The successful candidate will maintain safe grounds, monitor contractor activity, log faults, and liaise with external partners while ensuring Health and Safety compliance and daily customer service.

Qualifications

• Role requires attention to safety and cleanliness across site areas.
• Ability to liaise with lessees, contractors and internal staff.
• Good communication with Facilities Manager and team members.

Responsibilities

• Ensure unit grounds are kept safe, tidy and free from dangerous articles.
• Monitor lessee activities and contractors, reporting issues to the line manager.
• Log, monitor and report all damage or faults to fabric and fixtures.
• Liaise with external contractors and lessees ensuring Health and Safety procedures are followed.
• Communicate daily with Facilities Manager and team to meet customer needs.
