Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a supportive Primary Learning and Numeracy Tutor in Wigan to provide tailored 1:1 tuition for primary pupils, strengthening foundational maths skills and boosting engagement. The role focuses on building confidence, identifying gaps, and delivering interventions with creative activities tailored to each learner.

The position requires experience with primary maths and a patient, adaptable approach, with eligibility to work in the UK and DBS checks as needed.

Qualifications

• QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification desirable.
• Experience working with primary-aged pupils.
• Good knowledge of the primary Maths curriculum.
• Experience supporting pupils who need additional help with learning advantageous.
• A creative, patient and adaptable approach.

The role involves providing tailored tuition to help primary-aged pupils strengthen their foundational Maths skills, improve their engagement and prepare for the next stage of their education.

The Role

To be eligible for this role, the tutor must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
• Provide two professional references, including child-related references.
