Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a patient, creative tutor to provide targeted maths and core academic support to primary pupils in Sefton. This role offers flexible hours (5–15 per week) with an ongoing start from October 2026, ideal for someone with a teaching qualification or experience in tutoring.

You will reinforce number skills, times tables, and problem-solving, adapt plans to individual needs, monitor progress and report improvements to parents or guardians.

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible for QTS/PGCE in primary education.
• Experience with primary maths and national curriculum knowledge.
• Strong communication and patient, engaging approach.
• Previous tutoring or intervention experience is desirable.

About the Role

• Support pupils who have gaps in their learning or require additional intervention
• Adapt lesson plans to meet individual learning needs
• Monitor progress and celebrate improvements

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS, PGCE or equivalent relevant teaching qualification desirable
• Experience working with primary-aged pupils
• Good knowledge of primary Maths and the national curriculum
• Previous tutoring, teaching or intervention experience
• A patient, flexible and engaging approach

Essential Requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain the required clearance
• Two professional references
