Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Primary Learning and Numeracy Tutor to work in Wigan. The role involves delivering engaging 1:1 maths tuition to primary pupils, reinforcing foundational skills and arithmetic, and planning targeted interventions.

Candidates should have or be working toward QTS/PGCE, with experience in primary education and a patient, adaptable approach. This ongoing role starts October 2026 and offers flexible hours (5–15 per week) in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering teaching or tutoring to primary-aged pupils.
• Strong knowledge of the primary Maths curriculum.
• Experience supporting pupils who need additional help with learning is advantageous.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS, PGCE or an equivalent relevant teaching qualification is desirable.
• Experience working with primary-aged pupils.
• Good knowledge of the primary Maths curriculum.
• Experience supporting pupils who need additional help with learning is advantageous.
• A creative, patient and adaptable approach.

To be eligible for this role, the tutor must

• Hold the right to work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
• Provide two professional references, including child-related references.
