Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Primary Maths Intervention Tutor to support pupils needing extra help in developing mathematical understanding in Warrington. The role involves delivering engaging, differentiated one-to-one sessions that reinforce foundational skills and help pupils build confidence in Maths.

Start date October 2026, part-time hours (5-15 per week), ongoing duration. Ideal candidates have QTS/PGCE desirability, experience with primary-aged pupils, and a patient, creative approach

Qualifications

• QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification desirable.
• Experience with primary-aged pupils.
• Strong knowledge of primary maths curriculum expectations.

About the Role

Prospero Teaching is looking for an enthusiastic Primary Maths Intervention Tutor to support pupils who need additional help developing their mathematical understanding.

The tutor will deliver engaging, differentiated sessions that reinforce foundational skills, address learning gaps and help primary-aged pupils build confidence in Maths.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one primary Maths intervention
• Support number skills, calculations, times tables, fractions and problem-solving
• Identify areas where learners require additional support
• Use practical activities and differentiated resources to improve understanding
• Monitor progress and adapt sessions to meet learning targets
• Create a positive and encouraging learning environment

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS, PGCE or equivalent relevant teaching qualification desirable
• Experience working with primary-aged pupils
• Good knowledge of primary Maths and curriculum expectations
• Previous tutoring, teaching or intervention experience
• Patient, creative and able to explain concepts clearly

Essential Requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain the required clearance
• Two professional references
