GUARDIAN SELECTION LIMITED seeks a dedicated Secondary Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Maidstone. This full-time, ASAP-start role supports students with diverse learning needs, working closely with teachers to deliver inclusive lessons and monitor progress.

Applicants should have prior LSA experience, a safeguarding mindset, and the right to work in the UK. DBS update service or willingness to apply is required; attractive daily pay and professional development

• Experience as Learning Support Assistant or in a similar education role.
• Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups with secondary students.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply and safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to secondary students to help them access the curriculum.
• Work with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities.
• Support students' academic, social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Support students who may have additional learning needs or require extra classroom assistance.
• Maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment in line with school policies.

As a Secondary Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to students across the school. The successful Secondary Learning Support Assistant will help students engage with lessons, build independence, and develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed.

As a Secondary Learning Support Assistant, you will be expected to:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to secondary-aged students to help them access the curriculum.

To be considered for this Secondary Learning Support Assistant role, candidates should:

• Have previous experience working as a Secondary Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar education or youth-support role.
• Have experience supporting secondary-aged children or young people, particularly those with additional learning needs.
• Demonstrate patience, empathy, resilience, and a genuine commitment to helping students succeed.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be proactive, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Meet GSL's safer recruitment requirements.
• Hold an Enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
