Job summary

GSL Education Kent is seeking a dedicated Secondary Learning Support Assistant for a welcoming secondary school in Maidstone. The role is full-time, long-term supply, with an ASAP start, offering an opportunity to make a real difference to students’ educational and personal development.

You will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support, help students engage with lessons, and foster independence and confidence across the curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to secondary-aged students to help them access the curriculum.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities.
• Support students with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, independence, and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback and observations to teaching staff.
• Support students who may have additional learning needs or require extra classroom assistance.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment in line with school policies.
