Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a proactive Cover Supervisor to support secondary schools in Orpington. Start ASAP or September 2026, with both full-time and part-time options available. You will supervise classes when teachers are absent and help keep students engaged and on task.

The role welcomes graduates and education professionals seeking classroom experience, with DBS checks and safeguarding procedures in place.

Qualifications

• Confident and comfortable working with secondary-age students.
• Excellent communicators with strong interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, organised and adaptable.
• Able to manage classroom behaviour calmly and consistently.
• Passionate about supporting young people's education.
• Ideally experienced in a school, youth, tutoring or education environment - although graduates and candidates with relevant transferable experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervising students across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Delivering pre-prepared work and ensuring students remain on task.
• Maintaining a positive and purposeful classroom environment.
• Managing behaviour in line with the school's policies.
• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate.
• Reporting any issues or concerns to teaching staff and school leaders.
• Building positive relationships with students and staff.
