Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in Orpington. You will supervise classes when a teacher is absent, keep students engaged and ensure safe behaviour.

We welcome graduates and candidates with transferable experience. The role offers flexible full-time or part-time hours starting ASAP or September 2026, with competitive pay dependent on experience and DBS required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school, youth, tutoring or education environment is ideal; graduates and transferable experience are encouraged to apply.
• Confident and comfortable working with secondary-age students.
• Excellent communicators with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervising students across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Delivering pre-prepared work and keeping students on task.
• Maintaining a positive and purposeful classroom environment.
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies.
• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate.
• Reporting issues or concerns to teaching staff and school leaders.
