Secondary Classroom Assistant Role

Are you passionate about supporting secondary school children with Learning Difficulties, including Autism, Speech, Language & Communication needs?

  • Start ASAP
  • Location: Bristol – BS14
  • Excellent on-site training, support, and CPD provided to ensure safeguarding of all students
  • Working hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only
  • Salary: £90 - £100 per day, dependent on experience
  • Ideal for aspiring Psychologists, with experience in challenging yet rewarding settings

This role is an excellent opportunity to gain relevant experience and network with professionals, paving the way for careers in Psychology, Teaching, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and more.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering the learning experience
  • Provide behaviour and pastoral support
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Ensure student safeguarding
  • Attend staff meetings and complete necessary paperwork
Candidate Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS Check (assistance available)
  • Graduate in psychology, criminology, or related field, or have a strong educational background (GCSEs in Maths and English) with experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Ability to build effective relationships with students
  • Practical approach to meet individual needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
