Job description

The Teach Team is recruiting qualified secondary school teachers for short term and long term work in special schools in Birmingham. We are seeking passionate and dedicated teachers who have qualifications or relevant experience of working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). If you have proven experience, gained in either a mainstream or special school, of working with the following additional needs, would love to hear from you:

  • Autism
  • Speech, language and communication needs (SLCN)
  • Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
  • Moderate learning difficulties (MLD)
  • Severe learning difficulties (SLD)
  • Profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
Your responsibilities may include:

Planning and delivering lessons tailored to meeting EHCP outcomes

Creating a nurturing classroom environment that allows pupils to thrive and achieve, academically, socially and emotionally

Monitoring progress and contributing to reports and review meetings

Using communication tools such as PECs, Makaton and other communication aids

Collaborating with support staff, families, therapists and other professionals

Requirements:
