Job summary

Orient Express Sailing Yachts is seeking an experienced Second Engineer to join the engine team aboard the Orient Express Corinthian. You will be responsible for safe, efficient operation and maintenance of assigned machinery, including engine room watchkeeping and coordinated maintenance activities.

This contract runs for 2 months on/off, with watch duties typically 08:00–12:00 and 20:00–00:00. You will report to the Staff Engineer, maintain logs, supervise a motorman, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Compliant with IMO STCW conventions as amended.
• Company certification and training requirements per form C601d.
• Experience as per recruitment & promotion standards per form C601d.

Responsibilities

• Perform engine room watchkeeping as EOOW during the assigned watch periods.
• Carry out maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs of assigned machinery.
• Maintain the engine logbook and prepare a proper handover for the relieving engineer.
• Follow the Staff Engineer's directions and ensure compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, VMS and shipboard procedures.
• Record maintenance activities in Shipsure and monitor equipment condition to report defects promptly.
