Job summary

V.Group is seeking a Staff Chief Engineer for the Orient Express Sailing Yachts to lead the Engine Department aboard the Orient Express Olympian. This contract role covers overall technical coordination, maintenance planning and safety management to ensure reliable machinery operation.

The role reports to the Chief Engineer and requires STCW compliance and company-specific training per form C601d, with embarkation planned for January 2027.

Qualifications

• STCW qualification per IMO STCW Convention as amended.
• Company certification/training requirements per form C601d.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Engine Department operations and personnel.
• Coordinate engine spaces' readiness, maintenance planning and safety management.
• Supervise maintenance planning, dry-docking preparations and technical projects.
• Ensure compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, STCW and class/regulatory requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive handover of technical status and ongoing concerns at contract end.
