Job summary

Orient Express Sailing Yachts requires an Electro-Technical Officer to oversee electrical and electronic systems aboard our vessel. You will operate under the Chief Electrician, performing maintenance, inspections, and monitoring to ensure continuous, safe propulsion and power distribution.

The role emphasizes coordination with Engine and Deck teams, adherence to MARPOL/SOLAS, and a focus on equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• IMO STCW Convention (as amended)
• Company certification and training requirements per form C601d
• Experience as per Company Recruitment & Promotion Experience Requirements per form C601d

Responsibilities

• Plan, carry out, and follow up on maintenance, inspection, and monitoring of electrical systems in machinery spaces, propulsion, bridge equipment, and heavy deck machinery.
• Collaborate with Assistant Electricians to troubleshoot and assign primary responsibilities (Engine/Deck/Bridge vs. Hotel/Galley).
• Record maintenance, defects, and work orders in Shipsure under the Chief Electrician's supervision.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality procedures, including PPE and proper risk assessments.
• Prepare comprehensive handover at contract end, detailing status, ongoing work, and spare parts.
