Job summary

Orient Express Sailing Yachts is seeking a Staff Chief Engineer to lead the Engine Department aboard the Orient Express Olympian. The Staff Engineer will oversee machinery, maintenance planning, safety management and readiness under the Chief Engineer, with embarkation in January 2027.

Qualifications

• Qualification: As per applicable requirements of: IMO STCW Convention (as amended).
• Company certification and training requirements per form C601d.

Responsibilities

• 1. Department Leadership & Personnel Management: supervise engine officers and ratings; ensure work/rest hour compliance; maintain conduct in passenger areas.
• 2. Technical Operations & Emergency Response: monitor machinery spaces; coordinate engine activities; respond to emergencies outside hours as required.
• 3. Maintenance, Projects & Dry-Docking: plan and follow up maintenance; manage defects; coordinate dry-docking and surveys.
• 4. Safety, Security & Environmental Compliance: ensure compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, STCW, class and flag requirements; protect environment.
• 5. Administration & Logistics: oversee spares and stock; coordinate with shore management and suppliers; prepare handover at contract end.
