Job summary

Bedales School is seeking a passionate Second Chef to join the catering team, supporting the Head Chef and delivering high-quality meals to staff and students. The role requires a friendly, proactive team player with a commitment to quality and service.

Hours are 45 per week during term time (about 33 weeks per year), with additional hours for deep cleaning and term-end work. £30,026 per annum described with benefits including pension and health plans.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Catering
• Experience in a high-volume catering environment
• Friendly & approachable character

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items to the specifications determined by the Head Chef.
• Responsible for meals of excellent standards within budget and to a minimum wastage policy.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and basic food hygiene.
• Deputise in the absence of the Head Chef.
