Job summary

Impact Food Group is recruiting a Chef for Becket Keys with 6th Form in Brentwood. The role runs Monday to Friday, 7am-3pm, 37 weeks a year, with 200+ covers service and a focus on fresh meals for students and staff.

Salary is £26,000 per annum, with no evenings or weekends and term-time holidays. You’ll work under the onsite Chef Manager, contributing to high-quality school meals and staff dining in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef, ideally in a school or contract catering environment (not essential).
• Passion for cooking with fresh ingredients and delivering quality food.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Reliability and pride in maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of main meals and snacks.
• Cook with fresh, seasonal ingredients for high-volume service (200+ covers).
• Support with occasional counter service and till work.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen and dining environment.
