Job summary

St George's School is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our Catering team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role covers 37 hours per week across 42 weeks, with a rotating pattern that includes weekdays and weekends, reporting to the Catering Manager.

You will oversee the preparation and delivery of home-cooked meals for around 1,500 pupils and staff and a boarding community of ~120 boarders, ensuring high standards and efficient service.

Qualifications

• Relevant training and certificates in catering.
• Experience of high-volume catering to a high standard.
• Line management experience of at least 10 staff.
• Good communication with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Proactive with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and delivery of meals for ~1,500 pupils and staff and 120 boarders.
• Manage catering team and rotate shifts to cover 37 hours/week over 42 weeks.
• Report to the Catering Manager and maintain standards of service.
• Coordinate with school stakeholders to meet nutritional and safety requirements.
