Barchester Healthcare in the UK is seeking a passionate Second Chef to lead in-house kitchen operations within our care homes. You will work with fresh seasonal produce to deliver nutritious, flavoursome meals and create menus aligned with resident preferences while supporting the Head Chef.

This role offers a balanced schedule, a warm team environment and a strong focus on quality care. You will inspire residents with appetising dishes and uphold HACCP standards across service areas.

Qualifications

• Personable, warm approach focused on resident wellbeing.
• City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Assist Head Chef in menu development.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes.
• Create a warm, efficient and fun environment.
• Work within budget.
• Complete regular audits.
• Manage stock control.
