Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Bank Chef to support our kitchens across our homes in the UK. This casual, part-time role focuses on fresh seasonal food and maintaining high standards without long shifts.

You’ll help the Head Chef tailor menus to residents, delivering meals that are nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced. We look for warm, motivated chefs with a genuine care for residents’ wellbeing, strong HACCP knowledge and experience leading a team.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach; interest in residents’ wellbeing.
• City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience in leading and inspiring a team.
• Strong understanding of nutrition.
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food.
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming kitchen environment.
• Good understanding of HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Work fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes.
• Help create a warm, efficient and fun environment.
• Work within budget.
• Complete regular audits.
• Manage stock control.
• Assist in leading and motivating a team.
