Job summary

Barchester Healthcare Limited is seeking a passionate, qualified chef for a casual, part-time Bank Chef role across our homes. You will work with fresh seasonal food, deliver hotel/restaurant standards without long shifts, and support the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome menus for residents.

You’ll help lead and inspire a team, manage budgets, and ensure HACCP compliance while maintaining a warm, welcoming kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified chef with City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience leading a team in a kitchen environment.
• Strong understanding of nutrition and healthy menus.
• Experience working with fresh seasonal produce and HACCP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality, wholesome dishes.
• Create a warm, efficient and welcoming environment in the home.
• Work within budget and complete regular audits.
• Assist in leading and motivating the kitchen team.
