Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Plymouth is recruiting for Seasonal Mail Sorter to support our busy Christmas period. No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience required; bring enthusiasm and we'll provide the rest.

You'll work across early, late, and night shifts at Plymouth Mail Centre, with hourly pay rates shown: £13.69 for Early, £15.14 for Late, £16.44 for Night. Night shifts not available to applicants under 18.

Qualifications

• No prior warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience required.
• Must be able to work on your feet and handle items up to 11 kg.
• Night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience is required - just bring your enthusiasm and we'll provide the rest.

Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you'll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns available at Plymouth Mail Centre, Breakwater Road, PLYMOUTH, PL9 7XX, including the following core shift patterns:

• Earlies : 06:00 - 14:00 (£13.69 p/h)
• Lates : 14:00 - 22:00 (£15.14 p/h)
• Nights : 22:00 - 06:00 (£16.44 p/h)

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.

What you'll need to join the team

You don't need any previous warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience. We're looking for people who:

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands-on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.
