Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring for a Seasonal Mail Sorter at Chester Mail Centre. You’ll help process letters, gifts and parcels during our peak period, with shifts across early, late and night patterns.

No prior warehouse experience is required; just bring energy. Roles include unloading, moving mail around sorting centres, and sorting items quickly and accurately. Shift patterns are posted with pay per hour.

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands-on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.

Looking for a temporary Christmas job?

No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience is required – just bring your enthusiasm and we’ll provide the rest.

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you’ll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year.

Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns available at Chester Mail Centre, Jupiter Drive, Chester West Employment Park, CHESTER, CH1 4PA, including the following core shift patterns:

• Earlies: 06:00 - 14:00 (£13.69 p/h)
• Lates: 14:00 - 22:00 (£15.14 p/h)
• Nights: 22:00 - 06:00 (£16.44 p/h)
• Weekends: Various shifts available (as above p/h)

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.
